Industrial and Commercial Management System
Industrial and Commercial Management System (ICMS) is a
package of highly efficient software applications created using
the ORDEN/4GL fourth generation development tools.
The system is a software solution for the problems associated
with the automation of routine business operation, and generates
an integrated information base for decision making.
Its design incorporates a high level of standardization, which in
combination with ease of use and maintenance, guarantees
important savings in time and resources.
The system has been successfully implemented for numerous
applications, including sales, accounting, production planning,
personnel, payroll, inventory control, purchasing and fixed
assets.
ICMS is built over a basic module that administers tables and
privileges, provides a query system (QRY), and generates
documents on-line.
Its advantages include a high degree of modularity to facilitate
implementation in partial or complete form, according to the
requirements of each user, and a flexibility that makes it
possible to incorporate new functions and modifications at a low
cost, through the use of the wide range of programming tools.
All modules of the system have the same user interface. This
permits operational uniformity and expedites training of
personnel in different areas of a company.
The system also has considerable emphasis on security and data
integrity, including mechanisms to control information access,
guaranteeing privacy and confidentiality. Users administer and
operate only those systems over which they have direct
responsability.
ICMS incorporates a design methodology that allows each element
to share information and consolidate data, and provides
mechanisms to facilitate decision making and management analysis
at executive levels.
The design of the system and high degree of standardization allow
it to be implemented in a wide variety of computers.
